From warm welcomes to helping hands, our volunteers play a vital role in the care we deliver every day here at NALHN. In this episode of This is Care, we shine a light on the Northern Healthcare Volunteer Association and the amazing impact they have across our network.
As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we should all take the time out of our days to thank our volunteers who give a huge amount of their own time, and energy to make our network a better place.
Walk-in-Wednesday
Looking to give back? Come by our next Walk-In Wednesday information session where you can come along with a friend/family member or neighbour, hear about our services, talk to some of our volunteers, and have a walk around of some of the areas where you can volunteer to see if you would like to apply. Our Staff will facilitate an application on the same day if you wish to apply.

Recent News/Projects
Sam has been with the Association since August last year, starting as a volunteer in the Dialysis ward. Sam soon requested more shifts, and our catch-up in the office revealed Sam's incredible talent in addition to her generosity and willingness to give her time.
With her compassionate spirit, great ability to build rapport, and good understanding of palliative care, Marissa engages in one-on-one interactions with Palliative Care patients to create positive affirmations for them, and their families to cherish.
May 20 - 26 has been a time to celebrate our wonderful team of volunteers. They have had the opportunity to show the NALHN executives, from across both the Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals what incredible work they do. They have enjoyed a special thank you lunch, this year held at the CDFC - Elizabeth and a variety of Departments have awarded volunteers with certificates for outstanding volunteer service.
All photos of these occasions can be seen here.
